The race is on!!!!

Hello folks.Kong time No hear from Eh? well Ive been embroiled in the world that is citywide politics! As you know I opted out of the primary process for the simple reason that Im not running to be the democratic nominee Im running to be mayor of the city of Albany. And that is A nomination that must be made by all of the people of Albany ,not just Democrats! SO Im seeking the independant line as A independant democrat. My campaign staff(I was forced to hire in order to insure that Im on the ballot) will be on the ground getting signatures so I encourage EVERYONE:sing mY petitions speak loud and with one voice! because If you put me on the ballot I can assure you Albany will see a political change, that it never saw before! Now is the time to convert talk into action! SO if you truly support me ,If you truly want change sign my petitions and then votee for MARLON ANDERSON! then you will get something New in Albanys city hall!

Let the signings begin

OK folks its time to get down to the brass tacks as it were. There is only one last bridge to cross in my journey to history. beginning this monday June 29th I will be beginning the process of securing 2000 signatures from the voting public in the City of Albany. With those signatures there will be no more excuses , no more running , no more hiding , once I am offically on the Ballot this election is as good as mine. Not one of my opponents has a better record on the issues, a better grasp on the issues and A better plan for solving the issues. And once Im on the ballot both they and the media that has buoyed some of them will be able to avoid me and the discussion and debate that will come from on on the issues! SO this will be the last Blog update until after july 23, when I will bring you the news that My signatures have been filed and confirmed and the path to history in the making cleared! wish me luck and Albany readers get ready, ill be at your door, or stopping you on the streets soon!

Lousi Vs Conn the issues and the answer!

Sorry for the long wait between posts folks, ive been busy! Hosted A debate and public forum last evening for all the candidtes but like Billy conn running from Joe louis, they all ran away from it. The issues were iscussed and debated as they should be and people got A better insight(those who had the mentality to look past my clothes of course) of what I stand for, and where Id like to take this city. I will be hosting anothe debate Very soon, and Im looking forward to further debate. so until the next post(which may be some time, since im about to head out and get my signatures) rmemebr the issues, nothing more or nothing else is what should and will decide this election. th question is who do you think will best represent you and address them?

Reality check!!!

Hello people, I know that people are reading this blog, I wish you'd sign in just so people can recognize the fact that people are following this blog. Anyway, went to A meeting On gun viiolence last evening(one of the continuing MAJOR issues in this campaign) and of course the oppostion was Invisible. Made A great acounting of Myself, so im hoping that by continuing what I have done and have been known for doing Over the past decade or so, standing and speaking out on the issues, getting to the point, that people will finally come to grips with the fact that I am indeed running for mayor, and Im more than qualified to Do the Job and do it well!

To the nitty gritty!

Ok its time to get down to the nitty gritty here! time to go door to door, and make A few moves! Im heading out to get my signatures and it will be interesting to talk to the people see what they want and where they stand. Im looking forward to being on the ballot, and ending the excuses that are being used to prevent the issues from being debated among the candidates in this election! the nitty gritty, and Im ready to get down to it!

Can I win?

Can I win this election? that is the question(and sorry for the wait between posts) the answer is(with apologies to the Obama campaign) but YES I can! TYhe fact of the matter is Im the best candidate out there! the candidate with the best record and most activity on the issues. the candidate who is uncompromised politically and the only candidate without A political agenda! So Can i win? ask the other candidates what they think. Ask them if they are ready to debate the issues with me, Im sure youll get your answer! the race in Albany has been a textbook example of politics as usual in America, A clear example of why things are so wrong, and the only way that things will be made right is if someone from the outside of politics is allowed to come in and set the ship of state aright! And I am that someone, and like it or not thats just what im going to do!

NONE OF THE ABOVE!!!!!!

good morning folks. Had yet another interesting conversation with A potential voter last evening, and it is leading me to conclude that more and more the voters of Albany are ready to choose none of the Above in this election If you know what I mean. They may try to avoid it, but the handwriting is on the wall! Once the issues are addressed in this campaign ,issues like crime, violence on our streets and involving our youth, education and all the rest, and the failure of my opponents to address these issues is revealed, the public will indeed choose NONE OF THE ABOVE!

Politics and A tale of 2 Cities

Sorry I havent posted in so long folks, Been A busy little bee. As yu saw the educational budger passed, the lowest in Recent Albany history, and who led that effort? that issue(and many others apparently)aside. I think its very appalling and insulting to the voters of Albany that 1:the issues are still not being focused upon in this electtoial by neither the candidates of record, or more importantly the media, the voice of the people! A voice that has become very partisan and very focused on everything but the issues of this important race! I think that A focus on the issues would be a great story pn this race dont you? Well anyway, A issue of mine in this rce is the example of how A one horse town like Saratoga can have A thriving downttown area, while Albany's so called vaunted downtown Bid has resulted in a area totally devoid of the same? Issues folks MANY issues! will they ever be addressed? I wonder--------!!!!!

Hello people another week of Politics upcoming. Going before the common council tonight to call ONCE AGAIN, for A end to this long and drawn out"Ghost Ticket" process. I mean enough is enough! with all the issues that te council could be in special session on, or have A special focus on the only thing they could find of merit is this? But more on that tonight! Im also lookinf forwar4d to the passing of the Albany city schooll Budget on tues night, something that Ive lead on and am very proud of its result. Priorities ,results not politics that is what being A leader is all about.

dirty deeds done dirt cheap!

AH politics! Last week i recevied A letter from Citizen action?working familes party to eb interviewed for their endorsement. A surprise since I thought(and knew) that they were In the pocket(or is it the ohter way around) of Corey Ellis. Well today they stopped with the pretending that they are more than A PAC and came out and informed me that I woudlnt be interviewed and that they supported Corey Ellis. So much for bring politics back to the people eh> Hate to say it, but its going ro be such a revelation when they find out that On the issues, issues like crime , and youth and gun violence, and education and much more, the emperor, he being Corey Eliis has no clothes! He is not the Obama they are trying to paint him out to be, and putting the eggs into that one basket is only insuring Mayor jennings re-election! Ah Politics! dirty deeds, done dirt cheap!

DE-Nial belongs in Egypt!!!

Laughin hysterically at how some folks are in acture denial about my campaign. there are taking every postion and making every statement but the right ones. and heaven forbid we talk about or tackle one issue( and given that there are so many I think that in itself is a shame) But whatever the case Im in this race to win it and while the issues are being avoided Im getting stronger on it, addressed the incumbent at a meeting the other evening and call him to account on the fact that he hasnt built anything of significance in the community during his three terms in office something that he had no choice to agree with me on! THAT is what Im focusing on the ISSUES and where my oppoenents have been on them! So while folsk remain In de NIAL I must remind them that DE-NIAL belongs in egypt! It has no place in this race, Im looking forward to next week after the education Budget viote is held to see if what ive fought for will pass and then I can take credit for being the leading voice on having a measure of fiscal prudence in this city! Another issue! DE Nial indeed! well until next post folks remember theres only one choice for Mayor of Albany: MARLON ANDERSON.

Standing on the outside!

Hello folks as you know Ive been quite busy on the educational front pushing for A budget that will save the taxpayers of the city of Albany Millions of dollars without the politics that are currently afoot in city hall. Ive been scoring other political points as well and though Im standing on the outside of this campaign I still very much like my chances. And It has become very apparent that only A crushing and decisive victory in this race will serve to finally silence the voices who continually fawn negatively about my campaign and about me in general. And I ,for one do very much look forward to the stunned silence that will come when the announcement is made; ANDERSON WINS! ANDERSON MAKES HISTORY! Yes indeed success will be the best revenge> and Im looking forward to taking it! SO from the outside looking in at the fearful status quo I say later!

where are the issues?

Hello folks, been very busy, had three education meetings on Albanys school budget, and of coruse I was the ONLY candidate there for this important issue( at least I think its important) Albany has made history by introducing this budget, it has saved the taxpayers in this city millions of dollars and im proud to have led this effort. There are many more things that the public doesnt know about me and my efforts. But they will they will!

Busy, Busy Busy!

Siorry for the long time between posts folks, btu Ive been majorly Busy with this campaign, meetings, meetings and more meetings! and nothing but the same old political same old! Had A face off with the Mayor a few days ago, and I was appalled at how all of A SUDDEN THE ISSUES WERENT IMPORTANT AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAD BEEN WHINING ABOUT COCNERNS SUDDENLY SHUT UP WHEN THEY HAD A PRIME OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THE mAYOR ABOUT THEM!All i can say this: If you dont take action, dont expect action to be taken! Ive stepped up, its time for the rest of Albany to do the same! Anyway I hope everyone has A good weekend and next week Ill be back with more results from more meetings and political fol -der -rol!

The forest for the trees!

Sometimes I wonder, went to a school board meeting last evning regarding the Budget, and I was appalled to heard all the whining regarding budget cuts to non- essential services! in A district where A number of schools are on the worst performing list of schools in NYs, we have people whining about no more chinese language courses or spanish courses in elementary schools? WTF??!! to coin a phrase? priorities people! I think this school district has gotten way too spoiled and has lost sight of the true issue, our failing educational system. I mean one of the parents who spoke made it a point o say that for her "giffen wasnt a option for her kids". So ,let me get this straight: you acknowledge that there is A serious problem in our school district, but yet youre crying because you want your kids to learn chinese? O-K! Like I said I wonder if People can see the forest for the trees! In Albany I truly wonder about that!

Issues and answers

well held a press conferance today and I demaded that the media begin to focus more on the issues and where the canddiates stand and have stood on same> I think that with only four months to go before votes have been cast its appaling to note that no questions reagarding the issues have been put to Any of the candidates for mayor. eseentially giving out A feree pass? I dont know about you, But Id like to know where my opponents stand and have stood on issues like crime and education, id like to know what they have done regarding vioelcne in the community, these issues and so many more remain unaddressed, and it is to the detriment of the people and process that it continues! I hope that my "wake up call is heard" because very soon it will be too late! I also did my charity event today, had some fun for a worthy cause, nice to know that some good things are coming out of this run for mayor! well thats it for today! Gotta gert ready for the final push on the education budget tomorrow!

More candidates are entering the race, bringing the same old political same old! its kinda of sad really. but oh well politics is politics! Tok a break from the blog and it shows, where there was conversation now there is nothing cool with me though! well A busy political week beckons so lets go!!!!!!!

what needs to be focused upon

well in reviewing the rccent article printed in fri 4/17/09 Timesunion about me, I neglected to bring to the publics attention A salient point and fact that was in that article, and for which the T.U.s union should be commended. because that point speaks loudest of why im running for this office and why i should seriously be considered by every voter and every political organization for support. And that point is and im quoting directly from the Times Union here: " To his(my)credit he has stood up and spoken out when others are content to stay silent" what A statement folks! A statement of leadership and being credited for same! How many of the other candidates running for the office of mayor In Albany can say that about themsleves, or have ever had that said about them? That is what needs to be focused upon, the issues and where we have stood upon them not trivia and trivialities dont you think people?

upgrade update

ok people with my first bit of mud slinged at me in this campaign being subtly brushed off , we can once more focus on the issues, something that is clearly lacking in this campaign. oh yeah, I am particiapting in A charity even this weds at Albanys palace theatre for MDA and I hope that people will support them in their efforts. they gave me less than A weeks notice so I hope thy arent too disapointed with my results. went up beofre the county dems today, and I gave A great accounting of myself, I hope they understand as this entire city will, that while im not the Black guy you expected, that you(the media and the status quo) have groomed I am the black man who is going to win this race! Im about to turn up the heat in this race, and then people will see that I am who I say Iam! the next mayor of the city of Albany!

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Does it hurt?

well evidently my camapign is shaking things up. The T.U. the Newspaper that i had to foce to recognize my campaign is preparing to publish a expose on me in tomorrows paper. they say its a Issue the public needs to know. playing the same old politics hoping to manipulate the public. well Im confident that this tactic is about to backfire in my favor so I look forward to tomorrow!

Also in conjunction with that it seems that the folks at my workplace are starting to get in line with the campaign against my campaign as well. Doent pay to be a independant black man trying to do right I suppose. but whatever the case after tomorrow ill be standing better than i ever did and the people will finally see just whats really going down and who they are really worried about!

The same Old same Old?

AH politics as usual> The TU has privided The mayor and the two Status Quo challengers for the office Councilpersons Morris and Ellis platforms for their agendas. And the County democrats are about to have their meeting devoid Im sure of Candidates outside of the Status quo. I seems that I am indeed the only real hope for change in Albany NY. Because the forces that be are clearly standing behind the status quo. I truly hope that for the City of Albanys sake, that I am up to this challenge. because If I dont provide something new, then Im sure that Albany will get nothing but the same old political same old from whomever else is elected in Nov.

Politics versus results

AS you may or May have heard, In Albany currently My opponents are embroiled in A bit of Political theatre regarding"ghost tickets" A issue that was raised during A election year(shocking) But while My oppoents have been bascially wasting time and public monies posturing, I have been spearheading the effort that has been made By the Albany city school district to present the Lowest School budget in history, and the lowest tax levy on the citizens of Albany in recent Memory! So on the one hand you have Politics and on the other hand you have results. which would you choose?

The Platform

So what does Marlon stand for? where will I take the city as Mayor you ask? well here's the platform you be the judge!

there are four major areas of concern, 1 st and formost is CRIME

if I am elected I will put police back on the beat, open neighborhood police stations, and I will roll back the crufew on bars and clubs in the city to 2:00pm. I will also enforce quality of life standards to ensure less littering, public lewdness and the like, I will pursue the gun traffic in this city and end the youth vioelnce.

EDUCATION:
If Im elected I will take greater control of the school district from the Board of education and be privvy to all actions taken by the board and reserve final approval for any and all actions taken. I will demand that the next Superintendant of schools in the City of Albany make getting the schools in Albany that are on the worst performaing schools in the state list off of it! I will demand results! No more excuses and no more high tax rolls! !It's back to basics for this school district until the priorities are met! those priorities being students who can read and write and do math! results are the best way to sell public education and under my leadership this school district will deliver!

Economics: this city's economic structure has become ludicrious. basically it has become champagne wishes and caviar dreams. bur dreaming of dollars and tourism dont make for A sound economic policy. We need A economic engine that drives its self, and perpetuates itself! And that my friends is retail! I have a plan to bring retail back to9 downtown albany in the form of A shopping mall and I also have a plan to turn our urban blight our abandonded buildings into revenue machines! machines that will create jobs ,housing and A steady revenue stream for the city! It is this type of thinking that will create A sustainable and real economy for this city.

Taxes: i have allready led the school ditrcit in keeping tazes down and i will consolodate and merge city taxes into a structure that will slide in scale so that those who need to pay less will pay less and those who need to pay more will pay only as much as they should.

Thats the platform. something good for this city to stand on dont you think?

The reason why(the rundown)

SO you wonder, WHY is marlon Anderson running for Mayor? Well it's this simple: ive been involved for over A decade with community issues in the City of Albany. For years Iquietly stood in the background providing Shadow support to leaders who emerged offering hope to improve A community that Sorely needed it! Yet time and again I watched as nothing changed, and hope was extinguished. So rather than stand idly by once again and let another Hope disapoint me, I decided to take A active hand in the electorial process and this election! This city faces many issues of crisis. from crime and gun violence, to a declining educational system. We have Guns in our streets, and public schools that are disappearing among other issues and all we get is the same old political same old! Excuses and no results! and now in A election year we have the same old politicans and political appointees looking to advance themselves and not the City! To me that is unacceptable and thats why Im running for Mayor of the City of Albany. We need something new in the city of Albany and I believe I am that something new! Because In all the years Ive been championing the issues, Ive never once ran for A political office, or looked for A political appointment. Ive acted with one goal and one goal only, and that goal was to better the City of Albany! and I will continue to pursue that goal. SO Im asking you the people, to give me the opportunity and invest your power in Me to make the changes that are needed in this city to make it better for you. WHY you ask? Ask no longer.
